SCOTTISH Power are to carry out an "emergency shutdown" to repair a cable network after residents on a street lost electricity yesterday.
The power cut hit Windermere Avenue, Clinkham Wood, on Tuesday.
The issue was reported to Scottish Power at 1.20pm on July 30.
Engineers are to carry out an emergency shutdown at noon today, Wednesday, to complete a repair on the underground cable network.
It was expected power will be restored by 4pm today. The estimated restoration has since been pushed back to 8pm.
The WA11 7AF postcode has been affected by the outage.

In a statement, Scottish Power said: "There is an unplanned power cut in the WA11 postcode area of St Helens affecting properties in Windermere Avenue.
"We need to carry out an emergency shutdown at noon today to complete a repair on the underground cable network.
"This may affect the supply to your property. We will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 4pm.
"If you require any further help or support, please call us on 105.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
In a later statement, Scottish Power added: "Restoration is taking longer than expected due to resourcing delays we now expect power to be restored by 8pm."
