A JAM-PACKED event that has become a staple of the local calendar will return this weekend.

Aware of the popularity of the old Newton Town Show, the Newton and Earlestown Community Group revived the event back in 2013, and have developed it into an increasingly bigger attraction over the past eleven years.

Enthusiastically received by thousands of attendees, the Town Show has consistently provided a range of activities for people of all ages, and it will return to Mesnes Park on Saturday, August 3.

Taking place from 10am, the free event will again have a host of attractions to see or get involved in, including a funfair, bouncy castle, and inflatables.

There will also be a selection of classic cars on show, as well as a military cavalry, RAF flyover, and an artillery display.

In addition to this, there will also be live entertainment from musicians and brass bands, while a variety of stall holders and food and drink vendors will also support the event.

Ran entirely by volunteers, local residents have helped organisers to set up the festival this week, and any money raised will be directed back to the Newton and Earlestown Community Group.

This year's show will finish at 5pm as the return of the Newton Music Festival will follow. Headlined by Earlestown rockers The K's, remaining tickets can be found here.
