A FAMILY run cafe that has been going from strength to strength has extended its offer with an evening tapas menu.
Launched by former drama teacher Catherine Owens in 2022, The Courtyard has become well known for its hearty breakfasts, cosy interior, and welcoming atmosphere.
Twice shortlisted in the Star's 'Best Breakfast' competitions and named in the UK's prestigious Good Food Awards, the Windle-based cafe also provides a selection of burgers, curries, sandwiches, and desserts.
Listening to popular demand, the Courtyard team has now diversified even further to offer an evening and tapas menu along City Road.

After the business' application to extend its hours was accepted by St Helens Council, the Courtyard now opens until 9.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The evening menu contains a selection of popular lunch items, such as chilli and rice, nachos with pulled pork, and burgers.
There is also a small plate tapas offer that includes meat, fish, and vegetarian options, as well as jam-packed charcuterie boards.
With the business also licenced to sell alcohol in the evenings, feedback to the tapas menu has been extremely positive, with one customer leaving a review that the food was "perfect" and "could not fault any of it".
Speaking about the evening menu, Catherine said: "We are hoping that this will provide the community of St Helens with somewhere nice to go on an evening with family and loved ones, children and dogs are most welcome!
"We have lots of returning customers and we still love the fact that we attract new ones daily, either by recommendation, or through Google or Trip Advisor.
"We are incredibly excited by this new venture and hope that the people of St Helens are too."
