Emergency services are at the scene and there are road closures in place while the incident is being dealt with.
The Linkway has been closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the incident, between the junctions of Elton Head Road, Scorecross, and Sherdley Road.
Police advised motorists to find alternative routes as traffic was affected, although the closures are now understood to have cleared.
