FOUR people from Prescot have been arrested as detectives continue to investigate the murder of a man in Kirkby.

At around 6.35pm on Wednesday (July 17), police officers received a report from North West Ambulance Service that a 36-year-old man had been shot on Quarryside Drive.

He was later named as Rikki Berry from Kirkby.

Yesterday morning (Friday, July 20), at around 10.40am "a vehicle of interest" was found in Prescot and has been forensically seized", Merseyside Police confirmed.

The following people were subsequently  arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender: A 19-year-old woman; A 15-year-old boy; A 22-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman.

All four are from Prescot. They were taken to various police stations across the region and have since been released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings, the Senior Investigating Officer, said: “Our investigation is making progress but I want to emphasise that we still need to speak to anyone who has yet to come forward, and as soon as possible.
