ST Helens Star's theatre critic Peter Grant is ready to join in with another standing ovation for Michael Flatley's 'dazzling' revival of the iconic Lord of the Dance in Liverpool this weekend . . .

TWO years ago, fans were reeling after celebrating 25 years of a classic dance stage production.

In 2022 Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance mesmerised audiences all over again continually breaking records.

But the magic goes on for new generations - it's back . . . bigger and brighter than ever in a city and a venue that has always welcomed it with open arms.

I recall that emotional first standing ovation at the Empire.

And every one since.

I am not alone in loving this inspiring and exhilarating experience.

Lord of the Dance has now played to sell-out audiences in 1,000 venues in 60 countries to 60 million dance lovers who continue to enjoy its record-breaking achievements.

Now the much-loved show is returning to Liverpool for just three days.

And the title of the new tour says it all: 'A Lifetime of Standing Ovations.'

But you ain't seen nothing yet . . . say the producers.

It's time to put your hands (and feet) together for the sparkling 2024 trek.

The Chicago-born creator Michael Flatley is clearly proud of his perennial masterpiece.

Although he is not in the show, he is there in spirit in every single performance.

Michael says that the loyal fans are a massive part of the ongoing success of this spectacular entertainment.

He explained: "The magic of Lord of the Dance lives on in the hearts of our audiences and I am thrilled to bring this iconic show back to the UK.

"It's a testament to the enduring power of dance and the indomitable spirit of the human soul".

The multi-award winning legend says the forthcoming run of shows will take audiences on a journey to 'the next level again.'

The word 'new' shines through on the two hour and ten minutes show.

Fans will see new staging, fresh choreography, new costumes, cutting edge technology and special effects lighting.

Michael adds: "It's a celebration of a lifetime of standing ovations and we aim to leave audiences spellbound."

Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance is at Liverpool Empire this Friday (July 19) to Sunday (July 21) at 7.45pm.

Matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2.30pm.
