TWO men are in hospital after they were attacked on land near a fishing pond, police say.
The victims, believed to be in their 20s, were assaulted at land off Nutgrove Hall Drive, Thatto Heath, at about 1.30pm on Monday, July 15.
The men were taken to hospital.
Police cordoned off the scene while an investigation took place. A large number of police vehicles were at the scene, near the pond known locally as the Clegg.
In a statement police said: "Two male suspects were seen running towards Elephant Lane.
"Officers attended and are carrying put a search of the area to identify the suspects.
"CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out, and we are appealing for anyone with information or witnessed the incident to come forward."
Police added that they are appealing for information.
