RESIDENTS may have the chance to see the famous Red Arrows fly over the borough this weekend.

Residents in Rainford and Prescot were able to catch the Red Arrow pilots in the lead up to last year's Southport Air Show, although the performance was cancelled due to wet weather.

With the Red Arrows set to return to Southport this weekend, organisers have insisted that improvements have been made, with the famous planes set to fly to the coast on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14.

With the full schedule of events at Southport Air Show reported here, residents are always curious whether the Red Arrows will fly over the borough on their way to the coast.

Although the flight paths can be subject to change, the Red Arrows scheduled routes have been reported as they fly to the Southport Air Show and back to the RAF Base - and are scheduled to fly over Rainford on Sunday.
