AN appeal has been launched after concerns over the safety of a man was reported in Moss Bank this morning.

Residents reported seeing several police vehicles along Moss Bank Road from around 11.10am on Wednesday, July 10.

Police have confirmed that officers were in the area in relation to concerns over the safety of a man in his 40s.

Following this, the man has been reported as missing and an official appeal has been launched to find him.

The man, identified by police as Steven Smee, is 49-years-old and was last seen in the area of Moss Bank Road in St Helens at around 11.10am on Wednesday, July 10.

Steven is white, 6ft 2in tall, of stocky build, with ginger hair. When last seen, he was wearing a blue t-shirt with a H logo and jeans, and blue shoes. 

Police are asking for anyone with any information about Steven's whereabouts to pass on this information via the online form here.
