SEVERAL police vehicles and officers have been seen around a St Helens industrial estate for the past two days.

Witnesses have reported seeing a large presence around Jackson Street, not far away from St Helens town centre, from around 2pm on Wednesday, July 3.

On Friday, July 5, police officers were still reported to be patrolling the area around Jackson Street and East Side.

A police spokesperson has confirmed that the police presence relates to ongoing enquiries after a man and woman were arrested in the area on Wednesday, in connection with drugs offences.

Merseyside Police has confirmed that both people have since been released under investigation, but has not yet responded to further questioning.
