A PRIMARY school is celebrating a great year of sporting success.
Eccleston Mere's Y3/4 Athletics squad won their Y3/4 Quadkids competition which was hosted by Sutton Academy.
Eccy Mere beat 13 other schools from across the town to earn the school's first success in this particular competition, having finished third last year.
It is the school's fifth athletics success of the year.

Teacher and PE co-ordinator at Eccleston Mere Gareth Helsby said: "What a year it has been for sports at Eccy Mere!
"We have won medals at nine events this year, five of which are gold medals won by our athletics squads across KS2.
"Our Y3/4 squad were happy after winning the bronze medal at the same event last year but are even happier to win the gold this time around.
"They trained very hard for this competition and we couldn't be prouder of them."
