STAFF, service users and their families enjoyed a garden party at Abbeyford Children’s Home to celebrate the council-run facility’s seventh consecutive ‘Outstanding in all areas’ Ofsted report.
Entertainment on the day included, donkey rides, a mobile petting farm, musicians, and children’s entertainers, with appearances from Spiderman and Disney Princesses.
Speaking of his pride, Mike Blood, Manger of Abbeyford Children’s Home, said: “This is testament to the hard work, skills and dedication of the staff team and to our wonderful families that we support.
"I want to thank the previous manager, Paul Spencer - who has now retired - for all the work he did in modernising and improving the service.
“I am very proud of the successful service we offer, giving children and young people opportunities for new experiences, events and activities and to give their parents/carers a much needed and well-deserved break.
"We have an Outstanding staff team who go the extra mile to support the families and provide holistic person-centred support and care."
Located on Rainford Road in Windle, Abbeyford provides short-stay respite for children and young people with complex health, learning and social communication needs.
