DETECTIVES are appealing for information after reports a driver was punched in the face following a crash in St Helens.
A crash was reported at the junction of Prescot Road and Dunriding Lane, involving a Mercedes Vito and a Mercedes E220, at about 4.50pm yesterday, Tuesday, July 2.
Following the incident, it was reported that the drivers had an argument and one of them was punched to the face, before reporting chest pains.
He was taken to hospital for assessment.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Jimmy Rotheram said: “We are keen to speak to the driver of the Mercedes Vito as a matter of priority.
“Likewise, if anyone was passing the location and saw the collision or subsequent assault, come forward with your information, dashcam or other footage.”
