POLICE attended a residential street after a car crashed into a parked vehicle.

Officers were called to Newlands Road, in Haresfinch, shortly before 7.30pm on Tuesday, July 2. 

A Vauxhall Astra had reportedly collided with a parked Nissan Qashqai, police said.

This caused damage to the vehicle and no injuries were suffered in the collision, a spokesman added.

The road was blocked for a short period as the matter was dealt with.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said; "We were called to Newlands Road, St Helens at around 7.25pm following reports of a road traffic collision.

"A Vauxhall Astra reportedly collided with a parked Nissan Qashqai, causing damage but no injury. Details were exchanged.

"The road was blocked for a short time."
