A VILLAGE pub was delighted to be among the venues to be presented with an award for its work in the community.
The Junction pub, in Rainford, was given a Community Pub of the Year award by the St Helens & Districts Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) group.
This was in recognition of the charity work the venue does throughout the year in bringing the community together.
It is the second year running the News Lane pub has received the award.
Licensee at the Junction Paul Draper said: "The Rainford Junction has gratefully received the Community Pub of the Year award for the second year running courtesy of St Helens CAMRA.
"Thanks to all our customers, locals and staff for supporting us over the years to keep The Junction an asset to the community.

"Last week, in the marquee, we raised £900 for local resident Andy Reid's Standing Tall Foundation by hosting a Country Music night organised by another local resident Bob Leatherbarrow.
"Thanks again to St Helens CAMRA for their recognition of our efforts to serve the local community and may we continue to do so for years to come."
Meanwhile, the Cowley Vaults, on Cooper Street, was the other pub to be recognised by the St Helens CAMRA branch with a Community Pub of the Year award.
