A NEW carpet and flooring showroom has launched in a bid to bring something “new and modern” to the town.
St Helens Flooring has opened at The Barge Business Park, on Merton Bank Road.
Owner Michael Jopson said he wanted to bring something “bespoke” to residents to fill a gap in the market in St Helens.
“We’ve looked to bring something new, modern, vibrant and bespoke to the area,” said Michael, 38.
“St Helens is screaming out for something bespoke, something to revitalise the area.
“It is a fantastic area and the people are friendly, there was nothing bespoke for the locals.”
Michael, who is originally from Liverpool and has a background is in building and in the property industry, moved to the town and lives in Waterside Village.

The store employs two staff and has four fitters, who are sub-contracted.
“When I moved here, I thought there needs to be something why is there nothing modern? People may have had to travel to Liverpool, or Warrington.
“We are putting a big effort into this and we do not cut any corners and get the job done first time.
“We have got the massive brands like Karndean and Camaro, we’ve got top end stuff, and budget stuff as well.
“We cater for people’s needs and try to help.”
