ONE of St Helens' largest and most prominent pubs is back on the market - with property agents advertising for a new tenant.
The site has previously been occupied by the Chicago Rock and Wetherspoons' Running Horses.
It closed as a Wetherspoons in 2021 - as the Covid pandemic hit the hospitality sector - but later reopened under the management of Lancashire-firm Green Leisure.
However, it closed a year later and has been boarded up since, joining a list of bars that stand empty.
The venue, which started life as Chicago Rock in 2001, is within the St Helens Leisure Park building, which also houses Cineworld and Nando's.
With floor space of more than 10,000 square feet, it is one of the town's biggest venues.
In previous times it has thrived, particularly as a spot for live music, and has been among the most popular places for bar-goers to visit.
Metis Real Estates is advertising for a tenant to take on a lease and point to the planned investment of £90m for St Helens town centre's long-term regeneration and also the thriving West Point Retail Park - which stands across from the St Helens retail park - as positive factors.
The premises has a licence to serve alcohol between 7am and 2.30am from Sunday to Thursday.
