A MAN has been charged with causing the death of a dad-of-two by dangerous driving.
Police patrols found a man lying in the road on Moss Bank Road, close to the Moss Bank Hotel, in the early hours of January 12, 2022.
Emergency services attended and the man, later identified as 21-year-old dad-of-two Adam Cunliffe, was confirmed dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed that after a "comprehensive and complex investigation", a suspect has been charged in connection with Adam's death.
Paul Whitfield, of Hammond Street, Parr, has been charged with causing his death by dangerous driving.
Whitfield, 54, is due to make a first appearance before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court this afternoon, Wednesday.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "Following a comprehensive and complex investigation, we can confirm that a man has been charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in St Helens in 2022.
"On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, it was reported that a Mazda hatchback had been involved in a collision with a man on Moss Bank Lane.
"Emergency services attended the scene but the man, who was later identified as Adam Cunliffe, aged 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Paul Whitfield, 54, of Hammond Street, in St Helens, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
"He is due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court this afternoon, Wednesday, June 26."
