Earlier this month, Merseyside Police took over the investigation and yesterday, Tuesday, June 25, he was apprehended in Wigan.
The 44-year-old is currently in police custody and will be returned to prison.
Gee was given an indefinite sentence for making threats to kill at Liverpool Crown Court in 2010, the BBC reports.
He was told by a judge that he posed a significant risk to the public.
