THE number of people registered to vote in St Helens in the General Election has been confirmed.

The General Election will take place on July 4 – and the voter registration deadline passed last week.

Asked to confirm how many people in St Helens have registered to vote in the General Election, St Helens Council confirmed that the figure totals 138,250.

The full list of candidates for the 2024 general election in St Helens' constituencies was confirmed earlier this month.

Voters in the constituencies of St Helens North and St Helens South and Whiston will head to the polls to elect their MP.

St Helens North will see a new MP elected after incumbent Conor McGinn stepped down while Marie Rimmer seeks to defend her St Helens South and Whiston seat for Labour.
