A STRETCH of a major road in St Helens was closed following reports of an accident tonight.
The incident affected the East Lancashire Road eastbound, with traffic monitoring service Inrix reporting two vehicles are involved.
A section of the dual carriageway was closed between Moss Bank Road, Moss Bank and Green Leach Lane, Haresfinch.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said a driver suffered injuries to his leg and chest during a crash.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a Honda Civic and a Ford transit camper on the dual carriageway at 9.55pm on Sunday.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "The driver of the Honda suffered an injury to his leg and chest. There are no reports of any serious injuries to the occupants of the camper van."
