IN honour of national fish and chips day – which is today - we wanted to know where in St Helens serves the best British tradition.
What makes a good serving of fish and chips?
Is it the crispy batter surrounding the flaky fish teamed with perfectly cooked chips?
Do you add mushy peas or gravy or curry sauce?
Do they taste better when you eat them out of yesterday’s newspapers?
So far in our Best of 2024 competition, we’ve given out six awards in St Helens:
Best for Hair – At Gems
Best for Pies – Birchall’s
Best for Nails – Nails by Mandy
Best for Roast Dinner – The Moss Bank
Best for Cocktails – Cinema Bar
Best for Breakfast – Shakey J’s
