POLICE have explained their presence on a Newton-le-Willows estate yesterday.
Residents reported seeing police cars and officers in the area of Catherine Way, near Bradlegh Road on Tuesday afternoon, May 28, at around 4pm.
A police spokesman confirmed they had received a report of criminal damage in the area.
Two men were arrested in connection with this and later released with no further action to be taken.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We received a report of criminal damage at a property on Catherine Way, in St Helens, on Tuesday, May 28.
"Officers attended the scene and two males were arrested and later NFA’d."
