THE second St Helens Heritage Festival was held at the town hall in a celebration of the borough's rich history.
Hosted on Saturday and organised by St Helens Borough Council's Archive Service, the event was another astounding success, with more than 800 visitors attending.
Highlights on the day included 32 exhibition stalls showcasing the borough’s fascinating and varied history - from mining to glass making, rugby league to England’s first industrial canal - and not forgetting its influence on the railway.

Meanwhile, a vintage bus from the North West Museum Of Road Transport and classic cars displayed outside the town hall proved popular with visitors - as did traditional Victorian entertainment group, The Extraordinary Victorians, who performed a number of songs from yesteryear.
