POLICE have said that there were "no serious injuries" suffered in a crash on the Rainford bypass.

Residents reported seeing emergency services attend to the scene of a crash on the Rainford bypass, near to Mill Lane, last Thursday afternoon, May 23.

It is understood the collision involved two vehicles.

A police spokesman said there were "no serious injuries" suffered.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision at around 3.40pm on Thursday, May on the Rainford Bypass.

"Emergency services attended but thankfully there were no serious injuries."

The road has been the scene of several serious crashes over recent years.
