A DEVELOPER has revealed plans to develop an additional 36 homes on a former glass works site.
The development on phase one of Lancots Lane is currently underway consisting of 168 affordable homes on an 11-acre derelict brownfield site.
The proposed second phase of the scheme – made up of houses and cottage flats between one and four bedrooms – will be developed in partnership between Stanley Land and Homes and contractor Holmpatrick Developments..
A planning application will be submitted to St Helens Council in the coming weeks for the new homes which will be made available for affordable rent and shared ownership.
Neil Hughes, director of Stanley Land and Homes, said: “Plans for the second phase of Lancots Lane will continue our regeneration journey in St Helens and further demonstrate Stanley’s commitment to turning underused sites into thriving communities.
“With phase one of Lancots Lane and our scheme on Baxters Lane currently underway, we plan to deliver a total of 232 new homes to the area, all benefitting from high thermal efficiency and low running costs.”
Stanley’s team on the project includes MPSL Planning and Design (Architect), Alan Johnston Partnership (Engineers) and Hive (Planning consultants).
If approved, the scheme will be the third "affordable housing development" being developed in the area by Stanley Land and Homes, alongside phase one of Lancots Lane and a 28-home scheme on Baxters Lane.
