COMEDIANS, TV cameras, and a very special darts player arrived in St Helens last night to film a one-off television episode.
With demand for darts growing exponentially since Luke Littler reached the final of the World Championship earlier this year, a huge amount of attention has also been shown to his former darts academy in St Helens.
With TV cameras previously heading to the St Helens Darts Academy for the screening of Littler's World Championship final in January, another production team came to the town this week to film an episode of 'Rob & Romesh Vs'

First broadcast in 2019, 'Rob & Romesh Vs' is a Sky television production that features comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan meeting people from the worlds of sports and entertainment.
With five previous series, the pair have filmed with heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, the world record holder for the 100m sprint Usain Bolt, Wimbledon winner Andy Murray, and the England national football team.
Filming for series six - which is planned to air towards the end of the year - Rob, Romesh, and the Sky team visited Sidac Social Club on Wheatsheaf Avenue on Monday, May 20, for a special episode of darts taking on the Warrington-based Littler.
After an interview with Littler around the Social Club, Rob and Romesh took on the young darts star in a handful of games on the Academy boards, with 12 lucky members of the Academy invited along to the filming and committee member Matthew Pearson announcing the scoring.
Karl Holden, who launched the St Helens Darts Academy 11 years ago, said: "It was a great night at the Academy, and we're really happy that Rob and Romesh chose us as a place to film.
"Luke is always so down to earth so it was great to see him again, and he took the time to speak to the young lads and sign some equipment.
"Rob had played a little bit of darts before but Romesh had never played at all - so they both needed a bit of tips from myself!"
With an "unbelievable" amount of kids wanting to play darts since Littler's rise to fame, the Academy has been offering additional sessions on a Wednesday and supporting new venues in Warrington, Runcorn, and Bolton to cope with the demand.
While Karl admitted that it has been tough to cope with this demand at times, he said it is great that the sport is receiving so much attention.
With a "great committee" at the Academy, Karl also said the club is always looking for further sponsors and funds to help fund players compete in championships across the country.
