POLICE have named a man charged with drink driving after officers spotted the suspect while they were waiting for a motorbike to be recovered in relation to a separate matter.
Police said they had seen a bike parked up outside a shop in Leach Lane, Sutton Leach on Sunday afternoon, May 19.
Police alleged that the bike was uninsured, and that the rider was disqualified from driving.
The vehicle was seized and the rider was reported in connection with allegations of driving without third-party insurance, and driving while disqualified.
Meanwhile, police added that while waiting for the recovery truck, they saw a man they allege was carrying a crate of lager, who was getting into the driver's seat of a car.
A man was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen of breath.
Merseyside Police confirmed that Andrejs Biruks, of Padeswood Close, Sutton Leach, has since been charged with drink driving.
Biruks, 46, is due to appear in court to face the charge on Tuesday, June 25.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "The arrest was in Leach Lane at around 5.45pm on Sunday, May 19.
"Andrejs Biruks, 46, of Padeswood Close in St Helens was charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above the legal limit.
"He was bailed to appear in court on June 25."
