AFTER four successful years in Warrington, a popular burger venue has caved into demand from St Helens customers.

Launching along Academy Street in Warrington town centre four years ago, Groke Burger has been a smash hit with customers from across the wider region.

With a focus on ‘smash’ burgers that vary in size and flavour, many Sintelliners have been crossing the Warrington border for Groke’s mouth-watering menu, with some of them pleading with the team to open a branch closer to home.

After finding a unit they believe could be a “perfect location”, the Groke team listened to customer demand and opened a second venue on Baldwin Street, in St Helens town centre, on Wednesday, May 15.

With previous experience in the hospitality industry, co-owner Mustafa Hussain, from Manchester, said: “My business partner used to work in Warrington, and he felt that there was demand for a really good burger place in the town centre.

“We initially started with a huge menu but we have shortened it down so that we can perfect every ingredient, and we have had such a good response over the years.

“We had a lot of customers from St Helens driving to us, and asking us to open up here.

“We’re only a small business at the minute but we have a big vision, so when we looked into the area and the traffic flow that passes us here, we thought let’s just go for it.”

In addition to Groke’s smash burgers, which the team prepares fresh every day, the business also provides loaded fries, brownie desserts and smaller kids meals.

After initially launching with a “huge menu”, Mustafa said that the Groke team whittled this down so they could “perfect every single thing” and so customers knew they were getting a high quality meal.

With a “big vision” of opening more and more Groke branches, Mustafa said that the team want to make sure that they are getting everything right for customers in St Helens and Warrington, while also keeping prices as affordable as possible.

Mustafa also thanked the local delivery network ‘St Helens Eats’ for helping to get the business’ name out there.

Delivery options are available for Groke through St Helens Eats, Just Eat, and Uber Eats, as well as walk-ins seven days a week.
