A FORMER Royal engineer and his wife have turned their love of dogs into a job by creating an indoor dog agility and play centre.
A Dog’s Life, on Sherdley Business Estate was opened just a few weeks ago by John and Vicki Massam.
The pair, who themselves own a pair of King Charles Cavalier, love dogs, with John having worked with dogs in the forces, including doing bomb disposal.
John, 43, who has his own construction firm and also works with the Standing Tall Foundation, said: “It’s been something that we’ve wanted to do for a while as we wanted to offer somewhere for people to go with their dogs.
“We both love dogs, and I worked with them when I was serving so I know how clever they are.
“We had an opportunity to do it and just went with it and the reaction so far has been great, I think it will really come into its own in wetter weather and winter too but its open regularly with myself or Vicki running it.”
The pair are also hiring the space out – which has agility training, a ball pit, sand pit and more for furry friends – as a venue for events, birthday parties and even for puppy training.
Dad-of-two John from Sutton, said: “We’ve even got a sensory room offering the dogs different smells and it helps enrich them.
“We just want to thank everyone for the support it’s been brilliant.”
