A DRIVER was clocked speeding at 54mph in a 30mph zone during an operation that took place as part of a week of action.
St Helens Council's road safety team joined forces with St Helens Police on Thursday to carry out speed checks on Reginald Road, Sutton.
It was to mark #RoadPeace week of action.
The council revealed that following the operation 17 drivers will be receiving letters from the police for excess speed, with the highest speed recorded at 54mph in a 30mph zone.
