A BISTRO has announced it will permanently close its doors after five years, with "external pressures" cited as the reason.
Situated close to the Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot, Imaginarium Bistro has been a firm favourite since its launch in 2019.
However, the business announced via its social media pages this week that it will close its doors permanently on Saturday, May 18.
The Star reported in 2019 when the Imaginarium Bistro was opened by Gaynor and Francesco La Rocca in the new building on Market Place, next to Prescot Parish Church, to begin its aim of serving food, cocktails and bringing people together.
But during this period the food and drink sector has faced the Covid restrictions and the cost-of-living crisis, although the owners have not given specific details of the "external pressures" behind the decision.
We have decided as a family to close
The post read: “It’s been a glorious 5 years, but external pressures have become too much and we have decided as a family that it is time to close our doors.
“We will be opening for the next 4 weeks on Saturdays and Sundays to bid farewell to loyal customers and friends.
“We hope you will come for one last meal or drink and wish us good luck for our next adventures.
“See you over the rainbow.”
