POLICE say they received a report of a man approaching two children in "suspicious circumstances".
Officers said they were made aware of an incident in which a man reportedly went up to and spoke to two children, a boy and a girl, on Rainford Road, Billinge, on the afternoon of Thursday, April 11.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the incident was reported by a member of the public the following day as "suspicious circumstances".

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "A member of the public reported an unknown male speaking to two children on Rainford Road at around 4.30pm on April 11.
"The children left the area and so did the male."
It is understood the person who reported the incident believed that the children "appeared uncomfortable".
There is no suggestion that any criminal offences were committed.
