POLICE have explained why they were in attendance at the Millennium Centre in St Helens yesterday afternoon.
Residents reported seeing police vehicles pull up at the car park of the Corporation Street-based centre on Thursday, shortly after 3pm.
A spokeswoman said they had received a report of a "concern for safety" of a man at the town centre location.
She added he was later found and taken to a friend's house.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "It related to concern for safety of a male,
"He was located at the YMCA and taken to a friend’s house."
