AFTER a toe-to-toe chart battle with The Libertines and Beyoncé, The K's debut album came in a very respectable third place.
Growing their fanbase and reputation since 2017, The K's released their debut album 'I Wonder If The World Knows?' on April 5 and were second only to the Libertines in the midweek album charts.
The four-piece, who are proud of their Earlestown roots, were on the front page of this week's Star as the band went all out with their album promotion
This included a huge mural being created on the side of the Citadel, acoustic and live performances organised across the country, and a pop-up shop launching in St Helens town centre to meet fans and sell their album.
After a chart battle with two musical heavyweights, The K's achieved an impressive third spot on the official album charts, as well as the top spot on the independent album charts.

With the Church Square pop-up shop launching on the day of the album's release, masses of local fans came to St Helens to meet the band and get their hands on signed copies of the album, singles, rarities, and merchandise.
Highlighting the K's growing reach, there have also been fans travelling from far and wide to visit the St Helens pop-up shop, with one couple making a 600-mile round trip from Devon to meet the band.
Lead singer Jamie Boyle said that this connection with fans is what is the most important thing for the band, who put out a statement after the album charting on Friday, April 12.
The K's said: "We are absolutely buzzing to announce that our debut album has reached number three overall in the Official UK Charts.
"Thank you to every single person who bought and supported us to such a great result on such a tough release week - we’d have been number one with these sales for many weeks so far this year! We love you all and this is just the start."
Speaking to the Star at the Church Square pop-up shop, Jamie said: "The response to the album and pop-up shop has been overwhelming, to be honest.
"For people to be making 600 mile round trips is just amazing, and everyone just seems to really love the album and have really connected to it. Every review seems to be four and five stars too.
"We have always been a live band so we love that connection we have with our fans, and to meet them face to face and have a conversation with them has been special."
In addition to their appearances in St Helens, the band has also been out touring their new album recently, which included an "emotional" show at Warrington's Parr Hall that was packed out with friends, family, and fans who have been there since the very start of the band's journey.
The indie rockers also have a journey through some of Europe's biggest festivals still to come, as well as their biggest show to date at Manchester Victoria Warehouse which is almost sold out.
