TWO men charged with modern slavery and drug supply offences as part of an ongoing police investigation have made a first court appearance.
Officers arrested two men in the Newton-le-Willows area on suspicion of drug supply on Friday, April 5.
The arrests were made by the specialist County Lines unit, as part of Project Medusa, said Merseyside Police, and the two suspects were later charged.
The investigation remains ongoing, officers said.
Graham McEvoy, 19, of Market Street, Newton-le-Willows, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine; being concerned in the supply of heroin; and five counts of arranging or facilitating travel of another person with a view to exploitation.

Lewis Davies, 19, of Clarence Street, Newton-le-Willows, has now been charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine; being concerned in the supply of heroin; and five counts of arranging or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation.
Both men appeared before Wirral Magistrates' Court on Monday, April 8.
During the hearing, the case was sent to Liverpool Crown Court, where both defendants will next appear.
McEvoy and Davies were both remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before a judge at the higher court on Tuesday, May 7, when they will issue pleas to the charges.
