A MAN has been charged with assault and intentional strangulation after police attended a property in Prescot.
Officers were called to an address at around 11pm on Saturday night, April 6 to reports a woman had been assaulted.
Samuel Dixon, of Livingstone Drive North, Aigburth, Liverpool has since been charged with two counts of assault by beating and two counts of intentional strangulation.
Dixon, 46, is due to appear before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court today, Monday, April 8.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Detectives have charged a man in relation to an assault in Prescot on Saturday, April 6.
"At around 11pm, emergency services were called to reports of a woman having been assaulted at a property.
"Samuel Dixon, 46, of Livingstone Drive North, Aigburth was charged with two counts of assault by beating and two counts of intentional strangulation.
"Dixon was remanded in custody and will appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court, Derby Square, Liverpool today, Monday, April 8."
