A 12-YEAR-OLD boy is going to sleep rough on the streets next month to help the homeless and highlight the issues they face.
St Cuthberts pupil Daniel Eaton has been through a lot, and despite these challenges, he often gives money and food to the homeless and according to his proud mum Paula, 37, has done from being a little boy.
Mum-of-three Paula Carpenter, said: “Daniel has a big heart, even as a toddler boy he would give his pocket money to the homeless, I always said go buy something but he always gave it away, or bought them food.
“Even in school he gives to charity, he’s come home telling me they are fundraising in school and he wants to give money – once he asked to take £19 out of his savings to help children abroad.
“He’s been through a lot, and he’s such a good boy and I’m really proud of him.
“When this opportunity came to sleep rough for the night Daniel jumped at the chance to help Daniel is deeply affected by this issue and wanted to be involved.
“He begged me to let him do it, so I said he could if I did it with him and the Hope Centre agreed as long as he wasn’t alone.
“To take part they ask that you raise £500, with a minimum of £250 and he’s doing really well fundraising, I’m just so proud of him that I’d love him to hit that target.
The sleep out is expected to take place on April 26, for more information email hopecentre.org.uk
