WITH Easter the most important holiday in the Christian calendar, many people will be heading to a service over this weekend.
Here are details of services being held by some churches in St Helens.
- ST HELENS Parish Church is holding a number of services over the Easter period.
The Anglican church is hosting a Maundy Thursday service at 7.30pm on March 28.
This will be a service of holy communion with foot washing.
Meanwhile, Good Friday at 2pm will be hour at the cross at the Church Square venue.
And on Easter Sunday at 10.30am, there will be an Easter celebration with communion.

- Holy Cross Catholic Church, on Corporation Street in the town centre, is holding a mass on Maundy Thursday at 6pm, a Good Friday passion of the Lord at 3pm, an Easter vigil mass at 6.30pm on Saturday and an Easter Sunday service at 10am.
- St Mary's Lowe House Church, on Crab Street, is hosting Stations of the Cross for children at 10.30am on Good Friday and a service for The Passion of The Lord at 3pm. The church will also host an Easter Sunday Mass at 11am.
- St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church, in Dentons Green, will host an Easter Saturday mass at 6pm.
