POLICE have given a brief update on a collision that took place in Earlestown on Friday morning.
As reported by the Star, the emergency services were called to a collision between a car and a lorry around the junction of Sankey Street and St John Street, not far from Earlestown town centre.
The collision took place at around 9.40am and involved a Ford Fusion car and a HGV, with officers enforcing a road closure around the area while they dealt with the incident.
This impacted traffic and buses had to be diverted to other areas in Earlestown.

After asking for an update on the collision, a Merseyside Police spokesperson explained that there have been no reports of any serious injuries related to the incident.
The road later reopened after the emergency services concluded their enquiries.
