POLICE are appealing for witnesses as they step up their investigation of a speeding driver who alleged that his brakes failed on the motorway.
At around 2pm on Wednesday, March 6, a driver contacted the police alleging that his car started to speed up and his brakes had failed while on the M58 in Merseyside.
Officers across several forces located the vehicle and escorted it onto the M57 and then onto the M62 eastbound through Warrington.
