ALTHOUGH there has been a decline in the number of bars and clubs in St Helens over the years, one venue has remained as one of the town's hotspots for karaoke.
A well-known feature along Duke Street's row of bars and clubs, Perry's Bar has attracted a wide range of customers over the past 16 years, thanks to its live sports, upstairs pool tables, and intimate setting.
It is the karaoke that is the business' biggest pull, however, with its collection of classics guaranteeing a good time for customers and a successful business model for the owners - particularly after a challenging few years.

Speaking about nightlife at Perry's, owner Allen Williams said: "It's always a great atmosphere in here, but the karaoke is definitely our main pull.
"We have our little crowd that keeps us ticking over but we also attract people of all ages wanting to come in and have a sing on their way into town."
Although Allen admitted that Duke Street's nightlife is not as busy as it used to be, he said that Perry's lasting success proves that the appetite is still there for people wanting to have a good night out.
Allen, who worked at Ice Bar before joining Perry's eight years ago, added: "Things were much busier around ten, fifteen years ago when you had the 'Duke Street' shuffle and lots of bars open along the street.
"Things has changed a bit as places have shut but it is still busy on a Friday and Saturday night, and people are still coming out and wanting to enjoy themselves.
"Covid was difficult, but ever since then, we've felt that people have really wanted to get back out and have a good time."
To support customers and the wider community, Allen and the Perry's team also helped to raise more than £400 for a Prostate Cancer fundraiser in memory of much-loved Sintelliner John Haggerty.
