What does the general manager of The Steve Prescott Foundation say about the event?
Martin Blondel, general manager of the SPF, who runs the event said: “We have 1,815 runners joining us this year, it’s the 14th event and has grown to be one of the top 10 10ks in the North West.
“When Steve [Prescott] set up the first event in Birchley Street car park and 698 people got involved, we could never know what it would become but it’s a key part of this town and is a highlight of everyone’s year.
“We have 96 fantastic volunteers, some in fancy dress, who will be helping everyone this year and we hope that everyone really enjoys it.”
