A COMMUNITY centre's continuing mission to be a "hub for all" has received a significant boost thanks to a large sum of lottery funding.
Park Farm Community Centre, in Carr Mill, has been awarded a substantial grant of £377,266 from The National Lottery Fund.
The sum, earmarked to support activities, services and facilities for the next five years, has been described by Park Farm as "another game changer for community centres in St Helens".

Park Farm Community Centre, on Kentmere Avenue, opened in 2007 and emerged from a small committee of volunteers coming together to take positive social action and to improve facilities on the Moss Bank estate.
Their vision was to transform a historical farm building, built around 1760 and known locally as 'The Blackhouse', into a multi-use community centre, which has flourished and grown from strength to strength.
The centre says the grant comes as a welcome relief, acknowledging the financial strain on small charities and ensuring the centre can continue its mission.
Craig Fryer, centre manager, expressed his gratitude and excitement over the grant.
He said: "This funding is a lifeline for Park Farm Community Centre. It represents a significant acknowledgment of our role in the community, enabling us to continue being a hub for all.
"With the financial backing now secured, the future looks bright for Park Farm Community Centre.
"Plans are in place to expand and enhance projects, outreach efforts, and facilities, ensuring the centre remains a welcoming and inspiring place for everyone.”
- The Centre will be holding a Health and Wellbeing Services Provider open day on Tuesday, March 26, from 11am to 1pm. Everybody is welcome to come along, to find out more about what is available across St Helens. Free hot food and refreshments will be available. For more information about any activities, call 01744 754367 or visit parkfarmcommunitycentre.co.uk and follow their social media pages.
