DETECTIVES have charged a man with firearms offences following an incident in St Helens earlier this week.
Police received a report that a 36-year-old man had been injured at a house on Derbyshire Hill Road, Parr on Monday at around 11.55am.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment to a facial injury consistent with a gunshot wound and has since been discharged.
This evening police announced they had charged Anthony McCall, 36, and of no fixed address, with possession of a firearm; possession of ammunition without a certificate; possession of a firearm when prohibited for life and possession of ammunition for a firearm when prohibited for life.
In a statement police said: "The incident is believed to have been isolated. There are no reports of any other injuries and we are not looking for anyone in relation to the investigation."
