A WOMAN has been charged by police after a dog allegedly attacked children on an estate.
The Star reported last year after a black Sharpei had allegedly attacked two boys, one of whom suffered “significant injuries” to his arm and abdomen, and was taken to hospital.
A mum alleged her son was attacked while playing with a friend on September 21 last year.
The dog has since been put down, police confirmed.
Detectives have confirmed a woman has been charged in connection with two incidents.
Amy Briers, 33, of Hempstead Close, Sutton Heath has been charged with three counts of owner/person in charge of dog dangerously out of control causing injury, which relate to incidents in July and September in which children were injured.
Briers appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court, Derby Square on Friday 16 February.
She will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, March 15.
