POLICE have confirmed the reason they were called to a St Helens park.
A police presence was seen at Gaskell Park, in Parr, from the early hours of Sunday, February 12,with officers remaining at the location until later on yesterday.
When asked about this a Merseyside Police spokeswoman referred the Star to Lancashire Police.
A spokesman said the call-out was in relation to a "burnt-out bike" that had been referred to them because of the recent murder of Lenny Scott, from Prescot, who was shot outside a gym in Skelmersdale on the evening of Thursday, February 8.
However, police inquiries found the burnt-out bike to be unconnected to the shooting.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "It was a report of a burnt-out bike referred to us because of the murder at Skelmersdale but after some inquiries found to not be linked."
