POLICE have named an 18-year-old man charged with wounding in connection with an alleged assault.
Harry Holcroft, of Lowfield Lane, Waterside Village, has been charged with wounding with intent in relation to an incident in which a 20-year-old man was found injured.
The man was found by police patrols with what were described as "injuries consistent with an assault" at the junction of New Cross Street and Henry Street, in St Helens on Saturday, October 21 last year.
Holcroft, 18, has been charged in connection with the alleged assault and was due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 2.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "A 20-year-old man was found by patrols at 5.15am on Saturday, October 21, with injuries consistent with an assault.
"It is believed the assault happened at junction of New Cross Street and Henry Street.
"Holcroft was charged on January 25 and bailed to appear in court."
