A TOWN centre bar and nightclub, which opened three months ago, has been boarded up.
Kingdom on Westfield Street launched in November.
The bar - which had previously been open as the Circus, Punch Tarmey's, and Zoo Bar - underwent a bright makeover under a new operator.
The two-storey building became the street’s new nightspot and last month it was still promoting events and live music at short notice.
However, reports emerged earlier this week that the bar had closed abruptly.
Pictures taken by the Star showed the front of Kingdom boarded up on Thursday.
The Star attempted to reach out to the venue’s operator this week but has been unable to obtain a response.
It is understood the closure relates to a dispute between the building’s owner and the bar operator.
St Helens Council, meanwhile, confirmed there had been no issues over the venue’s licence.
