FOUR fire crews came together last night to fight a fire at a former hotel building in nearby Ashton-in-Makerfield.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called just before 7pm on Tuesday, January 23, to reports of the building fire on Bolton Road.
Firefighters are still at the scene.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 7pm yesterday evening, Tuesday, January 23, firefighters were called to reports of a building fire on Bolton Road, in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan.
“Four fire engines from Wigan, Hindley, Leigh and Atherton fire stations arrived quickly at the scene, which involved a former hotel building.
"Crews have worked through the night wearing breathing apparatus using hose reels to make the scene safe. GMFRS remain in attendance.”
